The Riverside / San Bernardino Chapter of ACEC California is supported by dedicated committees that serve as the foundation of the organization. These committees enable the chapter to effectively carry out programs, initiatives, and activities that reflect the interests and goals of its membership. Each committee operates on a fiscal year calendar, from July through June, and contributes to the advancement of the engineering profession and the success of ACEC California statewide.
The ACEC / Caltrans District 8 Professional Liaison Committee (PLC) was formed with the primary purpose of maintaining a professional working relationship between Caltrans District 8 and ACEC Riverside / San Bernardino member firms that perform engineering services for transportation projects within the Inland Empire.

ACEC California recognizes Chapters for their positive impact on their local communities, the profession, and participation in local, state, and national ACEC-Sponsored programs. These Chapters are awarded for outstanding performance in the areas of membership, scholarship, legislative involvement, and contributing to the betterment of our association and industry. This committee focuses on preparing an annual report to showcase our Chapter activities and accomplishments.

Responsibilities include defining and contributing content, optimizing website performance and acting as liaison for other committees' website needs. The committee is currently focused on adding content to communicate the wide range of opportunities and benefits available to better serve our members.

The chapter’s Golf Academy Committee organizes and administers the annual Inland Empire Golf Academy (IEGA). This 8-week program was developed to provide affordable guidance to all skill levels to make golf accessible to all members. Golf clubs are provided to participants as needed during the Academy.

The chapter’s Golf Committee organizes and administers the annual Golf Tournament, a signature event supporting the chapter’s scholarship fund. The committee oversees planning, sponsorship coordination, and event logistics to ensure a successful and enjoyable tournament that benefits future engineers.

The chapter’s Scholarship Committee supports the next generation of engineers and land surveyors by reviewing the ACEC California scholarship applicant pool and awarding additional chapter scholarships to local college students. Using statewide applicants as the foundation, the committee identifies qualified students with ties to the Riverside / San Bernardino region and provides added local financial support.

The committee facilitates important local contact between ACEC California members and decision-makers about public policy issues. The committee is also the main organizing force for ACEC California’s annual Legislative Visit Day and may assist ACEC California’s participation in ACEC’s annual Consulting Congress Day, as well as essential grassroots-level advocacy on individual bills and regulatory issues that arise throughout the year.

The chapter Membership Committee is responsible for new member recruitment and onboarding, existing member engagement and retention, and coordinating with other ACEC chapters. The ACEC Riverside /San Bernardino Chapter currently has over 50 member firms.

The chapter’s Program Committee enhances member engagement and professional development by organizing monthly speaker events focused on upcoming capital improvement plans and other topics relevant to the engineering community. The committee identifies knowledgeable speakers, coordinates event logistics, and ensures programs align with member interests and chapter goals.
